COVID-19 UPDATE From the WMC President:
First Zoom Meeting June 28th (21st is Father's Day) Until further notice, WMC meetings starting in July will be held on Zoom the third Sunday of every month at 3 p.m. The new day and time are to accommodate people without consistent internet access. Katherine Brown will send details of the new changes, including internet hot spots, in an upcoming newsletter. Meetings will be recorded and posted on the website for those unable to Zoom. Ability to access the next Zoom meeting can be tested during a dry run on Sunday, June 14th between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. Depending on connection speed, access to Zoom is available from a computer, smartphone, or tablet. Mark Gross has started a writing initiative, KGUA Writers, in Gualala and environs in collaboration with Peggy Berryhill's KGUA-FM, 88.3 radio program at 9:00 a.m. on Monday mornings. It will build community, give everyone a sense of inclusion, and get folks to write, regardless of level—from novice to novelist. WMC member Maureen Eppstein's latest poetry collection has been accepted for publication by Main Street Rag Press, a fairly important independent publisher. Publication is planned for spring 2020. The collection, tilted Horizon Line, is something of a retrospective. It merges observations of nature with reflections on aging.
