Writer and teacher, editor and coach, teacher and traveler.

Susan suggested the Greek word that's become the name of our Ekphrasis collaboration with the Artists' Co-op of Mendocino--Art Describing Art.
 Thanks Susan!

Celebrate the season of good cheer by reading your best, worst, or weirdest holiday, and exchanging a book.

This is a writing opportunity for members to read for three minutes and have some fun. It's also a gift-wrapped book exchange; bring one, get one. Your choice--new or one you've read and want to share.

Please time your reading.

Members
Open Mic

Each month, when time permits, we'll have two members read for 3 minutes each (375 to 500 words.) To participate, put your name in the basket. A name will be drawn at the start of the evening, and another at the end. Please time the reading before the event to ensure it's within the limit.

Writing Opportunity

The Kelley House Museum is planning to publish a huckleberry cookbook to sell in their gift shop as a fund-raiser. It will blend recipes, history, interviews with locals and useful information of the huckleberries' role in coastal life. Over the past few years, the museum has collected local huckleberry lore and recipes. A writer is needed to pull together approximately 15 pages of information for book content preceding the recipes, shooting for a publication date in the Fall of 2014.

If you, or someone you know would participate, or would like additional information, please contact Nancy Freeze, 707/937-5791.

Thanks to emcee Jewels Marcus and the participating writers who read their work in the Ekphrasis collaboration with the Artists Co-Op of Mendocino on Wednesday, October 16th.

We are grateful to the Mendocino Hotel
for use of the Garden Room.
