WMC member Holly Tannen
appeared in a recent broadcast from Home Stage, London, singing "Fair Margaret and Young Whatsisname," an adaptation of the ballad of "Tam Lin." The video is a tribute to feminist ballad singer Frankie Armstrong who appeared in Bay area concerts in the 1970s and '80s.
     Holly and
Susie Rothfield accompanied Frankie on her 1973 tour of the US. At a songwriting workshop at the Freight and Salvage in Berkeley, Bob Franke challenged her to write "Tam Lin" set in California. Hear Holly sing after an introduction at 39.5 time mark at the Home Stage website.

WMC member windflower recently had poems published in two international journals:
Inner Eye Anthology by Poet’s Choice of Mumbai, India. Beyond Words Issue 15 June, 2021 from Berlin, Germany

Picture
WMC member Elizabeth Kirkpatrick-Vrenios' chapbook Empty the Ocean with a Thimble, released in April, is now at Gallery Books.  Reviewers have said: There's a strong current of 'Sisu' in Elizabeth Kirkpatrick-Vrenios's Empty the Ocean with a Thimble. 'Sisu,' the streak of madness that blew through her Finnish family, allowed the poet to endure a mother enraptured by its 'dark polar nights.' Despite its focus, this stunning collection shines with light, even wicked humor. Empty the Ocean with a Thimble casts a spell.
